Ways to Raise a Happy Child

      1. Breast milk contains immunity-boosting mechanisms which help keep your baby healthy. Any other food, even sugar water, permanently destroys many of these important substances. A healthy baby is a joy!

       2. Share sleep with your baby. This makes nighttime parenting easier and can help prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Your child’s need for your presence does not magically disappear at bedtime.
       3. A breastfeeding mother and her infant share sleep cycles and dream in unison, so the mother is less likely to be awakened by her baby during dreams or deep sleep. A refreshed mother is a patient mother!
       4. Responding quickly and compassionately to your babies cry, both day and night, reassures them that they are important to you. Picking up your babies will not “spoil” them. Carrying them increases brain cell connections. You can’t love a baby too much!
       5. “Bad behavior” is a sign that a child’s basic needs have not been met. Remember to give your children undivided attention, eye contact, and touching, and try to see things from their point of view would go a long way to save your child(ren) and our society at large.
       6. A close bond between parents and their children, naturally achieved through breastfeeding from mother, holdings from both mother`, and shared sleep by both with their child, is the best prevention of child abuse because this brings about intimacy that help the child discuss anything with his or her parents.
      7. Remember that punishment teaches violence, destroys self-esteem,introduces peer group slavery, sells children off easily into the cruel part of the world, creates anger, interferes with learning, and damages the relationship between parent and child. “People are not for hitting, and kids are people too!”
       8. Allow your child’s sense of trust wax stronger or grow strong, before having a new baby that will also claim your attention, and bring about competition between the duo. A two to four year spacing between children reaps enormous emotional benefits for each child.
       9. The best gifts you can give your child are your time, patience, and understanding.
