IJMBE has many benefits, and the below are benefit if you should register for IJMBE

1. You won't need to write JAMB, anymore before you would gain admission into Nigerian universities without it.

2. You are going be admitted into 200 level after the IJMBE programme.

3. The chances of you gaining admission into Nigerian universities is way higher with
IJMBE result because only a few people know about IJMB programme. About 20,000 student sits for IJMBE examination every year, while JAMB is always with the high level of registration of about 1.7 million yearly.

4.
IJMBE result does not expire, you can use it even after 20 years to use it to gain admission unlike JAMB that you need to write every year.

5. You get tips on what to expect in your universities days when you already
gain admission into Nigerian university, it will not be new to you again because you have gone through IJMBE learning scheme, IJMBE stands as the best mode to securing admission into 200 level after passing IJMBE examination.

6.
IJMBE also offers special advantages of apprenticeship for students who desire to stand alone without dependence on governmental work which these days brings no value to those doing them.

Waves as energy transfer
Tsunami buoy
‘Wave’ is a common term for a number of different ways in which energy is transferred:
  • In electromagnetic waves, energy is transferred through vibrations of electric and magnetic fields.
  • In sound waves, energy is transferred through vibration of air particles or particles of a solid through which the sound travels.
  • In water waves, energy is transferred through the vibration of the water particles.

Waves transfer energy but not mass. Buoys like this DART® tsunami buoy are moved up and down by the waves that pass by them but don’t move directionally across the water.

Waves transfer energy but not mass

When we watch surf waves coming into shore, it’s easy to think that individual water particles are moving towards us, but that’s not actually the case. The particles involved in waves move back and forth perpendicularly to the way the wave is going, but don’t move significantly in the direction of the wave. The particles ‘take part’ in the wave by bumping into one another and transferring energy. This is why energy can be transferred, even though the average position of the particles doesn’t change.
How does this work? It can help to think of a buoy bobbing in the ocean. The buoy is moved up and down by the waves that pass by it, but doesn’t move directionally across the water.
You could also think about a Mexican wave at a sports match. The wave moves around the arena, but the audience members don’t move around with it – they only stand up and sit down (a perpendicular movement to the wave direction).

Particles in a water wave exchange kinetic energy for potential energy

When particles in water become part of a wave, they start to move up or down. This means that kinetic energy (energy of movement) has been transferred to them. As the particles move further away from their normal position (up towards the wave crest or down towards the trough), they slow down. This means that some of their kinetic energy has been converted into potential energy – the energy of particles in a wave oscillates between kinetic and potential energy.

Mexican wave
As each person stands up and sits down, the ‘Mexican wave’ moves around the arena. The average position of each person doesn’t change.
Thinking about potential energy can help us understand why tsunamis can be so damaging. When a tsunami approaches the shore, it shoals (becomes much higher), so the water particles are displaced further from equilibrium. They acquire a lot of potential energy, and this is released when the wave interacts with land.

Measuring the energy in a wave

Why do some waves have more energy than others? A wave’s frequency and wavelength are both indicators of its energy, but this differs for different types for waves.
For water waves, those with a high speed and long wavelength (like a tsunami) have the most energy. For electromagnetic waves, speed is constant, so waves with a high frequency and a short wavelength (like X-rays) are the most energetic.
For all waves, a greater amplitude means more energy.

Harnessing wave energy

Scientists in New Zealand and elsewhere are looking at how to turn the energy of water waves into electricity. The oceans around New Zealand are promising places to generate wave power because we have large waves and strong currents. Generating wave power would involve an underwater device (like a paddle, for example) that would move in response to waves and drive a turbine that would produce electricity.
The idea of wave power is appealing because waves are a sustainable resource – they can’t be used up (unlike other resources, like coal, that are used for making electricity in New Zealand). However, they are quite inefficient – they need a lot of coastal space to generate useful quantities of energy. Using mathematical modelling and physical model building, Kiwi scientists are investigating how to harness wave power, but it will be some time before we’re using electricity from wave power in our homes.

JAMB Registration News Update For 2017/2018.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, will commence the sale of its 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations admission forms on March 20.
The Registrar/Chief Executive of JAMB, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, made the announcement in a statement obtained on Monday in Abuja.
According to him, the sale of forms and registration for the UTME would commence on Monday March 20 till Wednesday April 19 2017.
Oloyede emphasised that registration closes on Saturday April 22.
The UTME has been scheduled for between May 20, excluding May 12, to allow candidates write Further Mathematics examination for the West African Examinations Council.
Candidates are expected to pay N5, 500 for the registration package which includes registration fees, reading text, syllabus and brochure.
“UTME 2017 examination starts May 6 till May 20, 2017 (excluding May 12, 2017 because of candidates sitting for WAEC’s Further Mathematics examination). Sale of forms ends on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 while the registration portal closes on Saturday, April 22, 2017. For direct entry candidates, the application will be on sale from Sunday, April 23, 2017″, JAMB wrote on its Twitter account.
It was reported that JAMB had earlier announced the conclusion of all restructuring and reforms and is now set to commence the sale of its application document in March.

Also in February, JAMB had announced that it had completed a joint timetable with WAEC and National Examination Council to avoid clashing examination dates.

The restructuring exercise, it had said, would allow for only one choice of public university in which new registration platform will now be first choice, second choice, third choice and fourth choice and not most preferred, preferred choice.

The spokesperson of JAMB, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, had said the agency had taken time to add value to the services it have been offering to Nigerians for over three decades.

According to him, the restructuring was aimed at expanding the opportunities available to candidates since almost all the public universities do not consider candidates on the second choice list because they hardly exhaust their first choice.

He said, “We have designed a Central Admissions Processing System where JAMB will interface with the institutions and ensure the compliance of this reform. The summary is that no candidate will be admitted with awaiting result. Candidates and their parents are also to note that JAMB has restructured the registration platform to allow for only one choice of public university. The new registration platform will now be first choice, second choice, third choice and fourth choice and not most preferred, preferred etc as it was.

“Candidates’ first choice can be a College, University, Innovative Enterprises Institutions or Polytechnic/
Monotechnic. However, if a candidate makes a Public University his first choice, he will not have any public University to choose for second, third and fourth choice. He will have on the remaining three choices, a College, Polytechnic, Private University and IEI’S. However, candidates for the 2017 UTME can now select National Certificate in Education (College) or National Diploma (Polytechnic/Monotechnicas their first choice up to third choice and the fourth IEIThey can select the IEI (Innovative Enterprise Institution, ND) as their first choice up to the fourth choice, but can only pick a public university once.”

While insisting that the registration of 2017 UTME will go side by side with the  Direct Entry and during registration, JAMB said candidates’ 10 fingers would be captured using Biometric Verification Machine .
Benjamin also warned candidates that no cyber café would be registering candidates for the UTME.
“On no account should any candidate patronize any cybercafé for our registration. It is important to note that the Board will not deploy the use of any scratch card for the 2017 UTME registration exercise”, he emphasised.
JAMB also explained that the time had come for it do do things differently and ensure that a reasonable percentage of qualified candidates find placement in tertiary institutions.
